Firewall and router configuration

See Firewall and Router issues.

A popular dynamic DNS hosting service.

Most domestic internet connections have a "dynamic" IP address, which changes based on events such as DSL/Cable modem reset, power outage or arbitrarily based on the policies of your ISP.

This is bad for Freenet, because the network doesn't know where to find another node when its IP changes.

It is especially bad if the Freenet node is behind a NAT firewall.

Dyndns.org and other such services solve this problem by providing a permanent domain name for the user, which can then be inserted into node.ipAddressOverride in the freenet.ini.
