Green tank is no more, Red and Blue tanks must survive as long as they can. The shadow hands want to steal their light, but Red and Blue tanks need to cooperate if they want to stand a chance against them.
I though it would be amusing to name the enemies “hand of darkness”, as I only created the left-hand sprite at this point. Then, Ursula K. Le Guin really did die, and it wasn’t funny anymore. The reference doesn’t have any connection with the game.
Anyways, Tanks vs Shadow Hands was my first attempt to modify the tutorial Tanks! created by Unity Technologies. The goal was to change the gameplay with lights. Shadows were modified with a shader to make them appear completely pitch black, allowing enemies to sneakily appear in those.

Assignment Requirements
I created Tanks vs Shadow Hands within the framework of the course CART415: Game Studio I, given by the Computation Arts department of Concordia University, winter semester 2018.
Tanks! was about war, victory and defeat, so I created a game about war, victory and defeat. More seriously, instead of having players fighting against each other, I changed the main purpose and made them fight a common enemy. They may also shoot each other to regain part of their lost light, thus keeping their ally a bit longer. Furthermore, I approached this project with the goal of completely changing the aesthetic, and to make the new mechanics work around it.
