We need to remove some states like Illinois and Alabama that don't really report NIBRS as a state. We are now including all states that report some NIBRS. Otherwise, the downloads should match this list:

  • Alabama: 1991-1993, 2006-2016
  • Arizona: 2004-2016
  • Arkansas: 1999-2016
  • Colorado: 1992-1994, 1997-2016
  • Connecticut: 1998-2016
  • District of Columbia: 2000-2016
  • Delaware: 2001-2016
  • Kentucky: 1998-2016
  • Idaho: 1992-2016
  • Illinois: 1993 - 1994, 2006 - 2016
  • Indiana: 2013-2016
  • Iowa: 1992-2016
  • Kansas: 2000-2016
  • Kentucky: 1998-2016
  • Louisiana: 2003-2016
  • Maine: 2004-2016
  • Massachusetts: 1994-2016
  • Michigan: 1995-2016
  • Missouri: 2006-2016
  • Montana: 2005-2016
  • Nebraska: 1998 - 2016
  • New Hampshire: 2002-2016
  • North Dakota: 1991-2016
  • Ohio: 1998 - 2016
  • Oklahoma: 2008 - 2016
  • Oregon: 2003 - 2016
  • Pennsylvania: 2012-2016
  • Rhode Island: 2004-2016
  • South Carolina: 1991-2016
  • South Dakota: 2000-2016
  • Tennessee: 1997-2016
  • Texas: 1997-2016
  • Utah: 1993-2016
  • Vermont: 1993-2016
  • Virginia: 1994-2016
  • Washington: 2005-2016
  • West Virginia: 1998-2016
  • Wisconsin: 2004-2016

We can do that pretty easily. The data we use is in ucr-program-participation.json so we can adjust it to reflect all of the dates above. The biggest wrinkle I see is that we currently have no way to handle a case like Colorado where there is a gap in the reporting period but I could think about that for a bit.

For clarification, if we remove a state from the NIBRS download we will also remove the NIBRS details section/visualizations on URLs for that state, correct?

just a reminder that we should include any data we have available for non-NIBRS certified states like AL and IL. We're also missing DC.

I'm going to go edit the issue above to include AL, IL and DC ranges. Ideally we should have this be something provided by the API, but I'll file a separate issue for that for future people to consider

Sorry but I need to reopen this one. On further investigation, there are some NIBRS data holes for Alabama and Illinois that need to be reflected in the downloads menu. Sorry again. Let me know when this is done and I will reupload the zips as appropriate
