I started my coding journey as a mechanic actually. I was an automotive technician for eight years and those eight years felt like 20. I knew it was time for a change. I very much wanted to work in the Video Game industry making new games but my artistic ability had dimminshed since my teenage years. At the time I was living with two software engineers who tossed me a book on Python. That spawned my fascination with all things tech. I began Game Development classes at my local community college but time became an issue. I began working support at a AAA game studio and quickly found out about crunch. I then became a Support Engineer at a FinTech company, supporting a full stack web app. From there I began to learn much about .NET, Python, SQL, and many other things. I began to help our Python development team in hopes of moving into a software engineering role. I was offered a position on a Front End development team focusing on customer escalated issues. I had however, not learned much JavaScript so I enrolled into a Full Stack Engineering bootcamp at General Assembly to help me quickly learn the technologies needed to perform in my role. Since then I have found a new passion for programming and look forward to building cool things in the future!
