Here is the Ocarina of Time Randomizer 3.0, the second major update to the program. This update is primarily about combining the work from TestRunner's fork into the main program. The changes are overwhelming in number but here are the high points:

-The GUI is overhauled to include way more total settings.
-Master Quest support
-Keysanity and Keysy support
-Scrubsanity and Shopsanity support
-Tokensanity support
-Many bug fixes and balance tweaks

Credit for work on this release goes out to many devs; this has been a huge collaborative effort. TestRunner's fork was the core of most of what's here, mzxrules implemented the underlying guts of Master Quest, wulfy did some critical ROM hacking to both the pause and main menu, Grant Man has improved the compressor massively and did most of the work with the bundle, r0bd0g significantly overhauled a lot of the logic, and many, many other contributors made miscellaneous submissions. Thanks to everyone!

Here is the Ocarina of Time Randomizer v2.0, the first major update to the program. This update is largely about putting everything into the shuffle that we wanted in but couldn't get done for the 1.0; this is now a "complete" randomizer. There are many other little changes and bug fixes as well; I've created a changelog for those interested. The windows installer is here as well:

Welcome to the first official release of the randomizer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! As the first release we can't really do a changelog, but the readme should have an overwhelmingly exhaustive list of features, current limitations, and other such dynamics. To play you'll need an English OoT v1.0 ROM, fairly detailed knowledge of the original game, and an open mind to many diverse and interesting possibilities in navigating the vast and random world of Hyrule. The general idea here is that items (including Ocarina songs, Spiritual Stones, and Medallions) are randomized into many new places; the world itself should maintain its original geography, but having different combinations of items at different times could really mix things up for you.

At its core this program is a Python script, and the computer literate can just run that as they might expect using the newest version of Python 3. For those who find that intimidating who have a Windows computer, I have prepared a simple installer that should hopefully just work without too much fuss. Be aware that if you want to play on anything other than genuine N64 hardware, you'll need to use the "Compress patched Rom" checkbox and play with the file with -comp in its name. Be further aware that this randomizer requires the Expansion Pak for the N64. On emulator Mupen based emulators will set this automatically, Project 64 will require you to set the particular game to have 8 MB of RAM instead of the default 4 MB to simulate this, and there are tricks to making it work on the Virtual Console that are beyond the scope of this release text. Have fun and happy rando!
