We should consider ways to replace the current 'My Notes' tab with something containing comments related to a certain scan or binding.

What would probably work quite well is to let users post messages which can be related to a certain scan. Whenever someone views these messages and clicks on one, he or she is redirected to the corresponding scan (if any). Of coure, in order to properly utilise this, we would probably also need a global overview of messages, the ability to search through them and they should be moderated. Furthermore, we would have to consider how to nicely display a large volume of these messages.

I would recommend waiting with such a feature, which is starting to get close to the original idea of a discussion forum, until after the launch.

I do propose something similar but much simpler we could implement already: we could rename 'My Notes' to 'Scan Notes' and let it contain notes related to a single scan, which can be edited by all logged-in users. This wouldn't be really intended for discussions or such but could instead contain small comments or clarifications on the annotations of that particular page.
