In the new search interface, we seem to have lost the ability to do a search on only those identifiers that are explicitly assigned to an individual record, and instead, an identifier search automatically pulls not only all records with a specified identifier but also all records related to records with those identifiers.
This is not clear in the interface.
Can we add back in the ability to search on "self" explicitly? Currently "self" is not an option in the search identifier relationships option. But, because that's an extra click, and many people will not know to it is necessary to do this, can we also change the default value in search to be the self relationship, and anyone who wants a broader "show me all related items" search can use relationships dropdown to do so?
Priority: High, impeding work. This is causing lots of confusion both curatorially and with researchers and loan requests.
