About The Pull Request

Removes abductor's ability to brainwash subjects permanently. This doesn't remove their tool that allows them to temporarily brainwash their victims, that one is fine.

Why It's Good For The Game

We reverted the ability for abductors to have custom objectives in #9753, and the way around this currently is to brainwash, so we now have abductor teams abducting people and giving them the random objectives, AND giving them custom, on-the-line custom objectives that really have more impact than this antag is meant to have. They should not be able to turn a security officer into a rev or give murderbone passes.

Additionally, I don't think abductors who are meant to be aliens observing and experimenting the station need to have the ability to me this hands-on with the affairs of the station.

This is not an administrative issue as this PR was created from a discussion on the screenshot above, we as the people who have to deal with this mess agree that this is pretty smelly and having to decide each time an abductor makes an objective if it is okay or not is a lot of administrative burden, as they generally should not be causing massive amount of deaths/impact to the round's progression outside of the indirect effects of their organs (i.e. the captain keeps plasma-flooding medbay) and their objectives (which is balanced on random chance, we aren't going to get 3 people with "remove oxygen" objectives).

The custom objective trial was still worth trying, but the few people making good use of it vs the many that are just abusing it has become clear. We tried to trust the players with something fun, and it was largely abused and those that did have nobody to blame but themselves.

This is not an administrative issue

To second this from the coding side:

An administrative issue is when only a few players are doing something wrong and need to be corrected. It becomes a coding issue if when a substantial number of players are doing something wrong because they don't understand it isn't supposed to be done intuitively.

This is good, a truly robust abductor team can turn a station upside down with well written brainwash, which leads to a similar path of the freeform brainwash.

If we're to continue with the idea of ''they're supposed to observe, experiment, analyze, etc'' in the future it could be worth trying to cook ideas on giving them more stuff to do related to that

Administrator issues are stopping players who are acting maliciously, if players are given an option that is sensible to take such as easy brainwashing to make someone aligned to your goals then it is a game issue when players are taking that route.
