Today I received the update notification of 14.0 Sonoma, open this case for proactive purpose that is used to collect information about someone encountering some troubles during updating or successful upgrading.

I upgraded to Sonoma successfully on my Z440 with the latest OpenCore and kexts. And then I used OpenCore Legacy Patcher to restore Wi-Fi sinci I use Fenvi-T919.

All the parts are ready for my HP Z620, including the Sapphire RX580 4G, waiting for a full installation guide on the Sonoma.

As mentioned on the official website of oc, it requires 0.92 to install the sonoma, however 0.91 is the most updated version on github so where did you download 0.92.

Of course from https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/releases. I'm using 0.95.

Hello brother, could you share your guide about the OCLP to deal with the T919?

I saw there are a lot of guides on the web, some guides need to add the NVRAM booting parameter, and the rest need to compile the special OCLP of Sonoma.

Just for fun, one of my Hackintosh host has died after patching OCLP....

Generally I followed dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher#1077 (comment) and it has been great for me. But one has to be cautious. In the note, the referenced config.plist for blocking com.apple.iokit.IOSkywalkFamily and injecting kexts set all Enable to false. You should set them to true where applicable. Secondly, amfi=0x80 will cause Whatsapp & Skype to crash. I recommend using amfipass instead.

However, since OCLP 1.0 will be released today, things may change.

My son mistakenly updated my latest 2012 Mac mini prepatched to start with MacOS Ventura to Sonoma, and now when booting it shows an error and requests to recover to Mac OS 10.x. What I can do? What do you recommend me?

I had the same issue being impatient :). I've already wiped my Ventura disk and reinstalled Catalina. Here is my notes to never forget the upgrade sequence:

https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM/blob/master/fetch-macOS-v2.py Catalina only for 2012!
dmg2img -i BaseSystem.dmg BaseSystem.img
Write on sdcard using dd

Insert USB stick, hold Option and press Boot.
Enter WiFi password and reinstall Catalina.
Install https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/releases

Upgrade to a major MacOS version only from within OpenPatcher!!!

Hi there!

I just want to congratulate the Opencore Patcher Team! I just upgraded my 2016 Macbook Pro with 2 Thunderbird ports from Ventura to Sonoma with Opencore Patcher 1.0.0 and it worked flawlessly! I love the new screensavers! Big ups to the whole team!

Thank you for all your work!

Finally got around to complete this task (many probably have done it themselves):
Updated to OC097 and latest kexts. Verified for Sonoma 14.2 (both update or fresh installs).

I am closing this topic. Any new issues with Sonoma, please open new ones.
