The Blue Smoke's Ember is a miniaturized version of a traditional bench power supply. It is battery powered, and therefore portable. It is ideal for users that do development and testing out in the field, or user with limited space on their bench. Have you ever worked at the living room table with a laptop and a small electronics project? If so, you know how extra it can be to move out the big clunky power supply and a extension cord, just go get 5 or 3.3V.
