What is the current behavior?
Querying for memory dumps can crash 2008R2 prior to SP2 CU10:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2911026/fix-access-violation-may-occur-when-you-query-sys.dm-server-memory-dumps-in-sql-server-2008-r2

What is the expected behavior?
If the build number is 10.5, and prior to 10.50.4297.0, don't run the memory dumps query. Just skip it. (For bonus points, we could log this as an issue and point to that KB article.
