Welcome to the USER MANUAL for GameOnConnect:

GameOnConnect User Manual

Sign Up

  1. Enter a valid email address that you have access to.
  2. Enter any username that you would like to have.
  3. Enter a password that is at least 8 characters in length, contains at least one digit, at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter and at least 1 special character.
  4. Tap on the 'Sign Up' button. Your email, username and password will be captured and a GameOnConnect account will be created.

Continue with Google

  1. Tap on the 'Continue with Google' button. You will be prompted for a Gmail address.
  2. Enter any valid existing Gmail account that you have access to.
  3. Enter your Gmail password.
  4. A default username will be assigned for you. You are able to change it in the settings.
  5. Upon successful login, you will be directed to the home page.

Already have an account?

  1. Tap on 'Login' to be directed to the login page.

Login

Manual Login

  1. Enter the email address you used when creating your GameOnConnect account.
  2. Enter the password you created when creating your GameOnConnect account.
  3. Tap on the 'Login' button. If your password and email matches the registered account, you will be directed to the home page.

Continue with Google

  1. Tap on the 'Continue with Google' button. You will be prompted for a Gmail address.
  2. Enter the Gmail address you used when creating your GameOnConnect account.
  3. Enter the password for your Gmail account.
  4. Upon successful login, you will be directed to the home page.

Don't have an account?

  1. Tap on 'Sign Up' to be directed to the sign up page.

Feed

  1. Tap on 'Start playing' to indicate that you have started playing a game.
  2. View the friends that are currently online.
  3. Find your event invites.
  4. Tap on a n event to accept, decline or stay notified of the event.

Searching

  1. Tap on the 'magnifying glass'-icon in the navigation bar to be directed to the search page.
  2. Tap on the search bar and type in any game name that you would like to see.
  3. Tap on the 'checkmark' after typing in order so send the search request.
  4. Tap on the 'Connections' tab to view possible and existing connections or to find new connections.

Profile

  1. Tap on the 'person'-icon in the navigation bar to be directed to the profile page.
  2. Tap on the 'gear'-icon to access the settings.

Settings

  1. Tap on 'Edit Profile' to edit your profile. See Profile to get to settings.
  2. Tap on 'Customize Profile' to customize your profile.
  3. Tap on 'Help Centre' to visit the help centre.
  4. Tap on 'Logout' to be logged out of GameOnConnect.

  1. Tap on the 'down arrows' to view helping information. See Settings to get to the help centre.

Customize Profile

  1. Tap on the top most 'camera-icon' to change your banner picture.
  2. Tap on the rounded profile picture to change your profile picture.
  3. Tap on the 'plus' icon to add genres of games, age ratings, or social interests.
  4. Tap on the different game controller icons to change your theme colour.
  5. Tap on the switch to toggle between light and dark mode.
  6. Scroll down and tap on save changes to save your changes to the page.

Edit Profile

  1. Tap on the currently set username to change your username within the app.
  2. Tap on the currently set first name to change your first name within the app.
  3. Tap on the currently set surname to change your surname within the app.
  4. Tap on the currently set bio to change your bio within the app.
  5. Tap on the currently set birthday to adjust your birthday to the correct date.
  6. Tap on the switch to toggle between making your account private or public.
  7. Tap on save changes to save your changes to the page.

Create Events

Note that the required fields are marked the a "*" character.

  1. Tap on the camera icon to change the event picture.
  2. Tap on the event name text box to enter a name for the event.
  3. Tap on the description box to add a description for the event.
  4. Tap on the gaming session or the tournament buttons to toggle between the types of events.
  5. Tap on the start and end fields to choose a starting and ending time for the event.
  6. Tap on the toggle to choose between a public and private event.
  7. Tap on invite connections to invite connections to the event.
  8. Tap on 'Create event' button to create the event.

View Events

  1. Scroll in the top carousel between events that you joined.
  2. Tap on an event to view the details for a specific event
  3. If you are the owner of the event you can edit the event.
  4. Tap on 'Subscribed' to see the events that you have subscribed to.
  5. Tap on 'My Events' to see all of the events you are taking part in.
  6. Tap on 'All' to view all public events.

Connections

  1. Navigate to the profile page and tap on the connections box to view your existing connections.
  2. Tap on the three dots to disconnect or message a connection.
  3. Tap on 'requests' to accept or decline connections.

Messaging

  1. Tap on the 'message' icon in the Feed page to navigate to messaging.
  2. Tap on a usertile to message a specific connection.

Chats

  1. To send a message tap on the bottom textbox.
  2. Type a message in the textbox.
  3. Tap on the 'green paper plane' icon to send the message to the other user.

Stats

  1. Tap on the 'View Stats' to view your gaming stats.
  2. Tap on the mood pie chart to view your various moods while playing games.
  3. Scroll down to view your most played genres.
  4. Find your leaderboard placements at the bottom of the page.
  5. Tap on the the leaderboard placement to find the tournament that you placed in.
