just realized that it needs to be patched , in order to support w(c)script cli interface.

Can you provide a failing case for this? From looking around it looks like something like https://github.com/douglascrockford/JSON-js would be required, but I'm not sure it it's worth it just for WSH.

By failing case you mean test or fallback message? I would agree that pulling the whole json parser for WSH would be too much. So may be just some log message would be okay, something like: 'JavaScript environment you run does not provide ability to use json formatted .csslintrc file, use text format instead.'
