Archive notice:

This repo is being archived as the stylesheet itself is fully integrated into FreeCADs source and is actively developed there. The preference pack around it is developed here.

Behave dark theme for FreeCAD

Screenshot

Customized from Pablogil's awesome stylesheets here.

Full port of the Behave theme by Christian Petersen.

For full effect, don't use this stylesheet by itself, but install the full Preference Pack from the integrated addon manager, starting with FreeCAD 0.20!

How to install

  • Close FreeCAD
  • Take the *.qss file and paste it in the following location depending on your OS:
    • Windows - FreeCADInstallationPath/data/Gui/Stylesheets/
    • Linux - /home/YourUsername/.FreeCAD/Gui/Stylesheets/
    • OSX - /Users/YourUsername/Library/Preferences/FreeCAD/Gui/Stylesheets/
  • Open FreeCAD
  • Go to "Edit", "Preferences", "General" and choose your stylesheet in the dropdown menu

You can also create a hardlink from your cloned repo location to that path so you can update the stylesheet with a git pull.

This has been merged into the FreeCAD core. Starting from commit f686ed you should already have it. Stylesheet will still be developed here for now though.

How to use a stylesheet

  • To open up the settings choose "Edit" from the toolbar and then hit "Preferences"

Step1

  • Hit the "General" button, go to the "General" Tab and choose your favorite stylesheet

Step2

  • After hitting "Apply" you will see everything update to the new theme.

Step3

  • To really satisfy your eyes and make your FreeCAD look like the Screenshot you can go ahead and change your background color as well. Hit the "Display" button, switch to the "Colors" tab, choose "Simple color" and hit the color picker button next to it.

Step4

  • In the color picker menu paste #2C333D into the "HTML:" field.

Step5

  • Now hit OK a couple of times and you can get back to work without burning your retinas out!
