Some people were bugging me about wanting this but wanted to check in here and get thoughts on it before doing work to implement it. So... thoughts?

Why would we need this? The current one is completly fine imo. Also isnt this just a config value?

The old snitch plugin precious stones had the ability to resize the field ingame so you would be limited to 12167 meters cubed but could have it long and flat or super tall and skinny to, for instance, fit the exact bounds of a building

The field calculates from the snitch block creating odd lengths for the
sides.

An edge shouldn't be smaller than 3 blocks.

Validate the heck out of the provided lengths. Precious stones could be
manipulated to create fields of millions of blocks which crashed the server
at least once.

People have lived without it for over 2 years. What would it enable?

There's a lot of subtle complexities here. We could put it as a P5 and if we get some bandwidth later review it then.

With Triggers I fear this would be a bit OP; I could create some nasty focused traps using a trigger-enabled juke that only scanned a 3x3x3 cube to the side of the snitch, for instance ...
