SegmentTimeLine timing should not be restricted as SegmentTemplate with $Number$ #1711

dash.js is requiring that SegmentTimeLine segment duration should be within +/- 50% of segment duration. However, there should be no such limit.

In a test case, the average segment duration is 4s, but the first subtitle segment starts 4.1s after the start.

dash.js has a threshold of 1/2 segment duration to search for segments, and will not recognize the subtitle segment as valid. It will then not recover.

I'll try to find the original MPD and media segments for reproducing the problem.
