Hi!
This package contains wrong version of eosio -
$ /opt/bin/v1.8.0-rc1/nodeos --version
v1.7.0-rc1-755-g7cef0c5

https://github.com/eosio/eos/releases/download/v1.8.0-rc1/eosio_1.8.0-rc1-ubuntu-16.04_amd64.deb

Confirmed: All .deb and .rpm are reporting the problem.
But not for Mojave, that reports the proper version

Thank you for reporting the issue. We had an issue with our build system which allowed this. We've made the necessary fixes and it will not happen again.
