Is the Python standard library good? Yes. Could it's conciseness be improved? Yes. Ubelt aims to provide a quicker way to express things you can do in the standard library. Progress? `ub.ProgIter <https://ubelt.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ubelt.progiter.html#ubelt.progiter.ProgIter>`_. Hashing? `ub.hash_data <https://ubelt.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ubelt.util_hash.html#ubelt.util_hash.hash_data>`_ / `ub.hash_file <https://ubelt.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ubelt.util_hash.html#ubelt.util_hash.hash_file>`_. There are similar functions for downloading data, futures-based parallel (or serial) job execution, pretty reprs, path management, iteration, and one of my favorites: set operation enriched dictionaries: `ub.cmd <https://ubelt.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ubelt.util_dict.html#ubelt.util_dict.udict>`_.
