About this module:

This module was created for the Scoop a Poop Project, based at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. The module has been designed to facilitate the spatial data collection for the citizen science project investigating antibiotic resistance in wildlife.

Authorship:

This module was co-developed by Koa Webster at Macquarie University and Petra Janouchova at the FAIMS Project, Department of Ancient History, Macquarie University.

Funding:

Development of this module was funded by the Research Attraction and Acceleration Program (RAAP) NSW Department of Industry 16805/00, aimed to support innovation and investment in the New South Wales in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

This module contains the following FAIMS features:

  • coordinates from internal GPS
  • descriptive guide with instructions for users
  • barcode scanner
  • photo capture from device camera
  • password protected access

This module can be used with no or minor modification for:

  • collecting samples
  • spotting species
  • simple citizen science project
