There are a lot of different neurons under the "anterior fascicle sensory neuron" heading. I'm trying to curate something to the dorsal external sensory neurons as a group (as that's as specific as the paper got), but there aren't any generic neuron type subdivisions here to narrow it down from the parent group.

My background is very much not neuroscience, so I ask those who know - could some generic terms for the various neuron types in this list be inserted between this parent and its child terms? If such a thing is appropriate, it would be very helpful to have those kinds of terms. Thank you!

Please can you give the FBrf of the reference you were looking at?

It is in Fig 1 of FBrf0217855. That statement about dorsal external sensory neurons might be too vague / unsupported by pictures to be worth curating, I need to run it by other wt_exp curators first. But it did help me notice the parent term for the dda neurons in Fig 1B, and I couldn't find a parallel term for the dorsal external sensory neurons. I'm not a neuro person, so it is possible that either I missed the term or didn't see the logic behind why there isn't an umbrella term for those neurons. Thank you for looking at it!

Yeah, it is not entirely clear what they mean and it is not pointed out in the image. There are several terms in the ontology that could be covered by this.

I can make more superclasses, there aren't any hard rules about when to do this, but too many different groupings can overcomplicate - e.g. having them grouped by segment (abdominal 1, 2, 3 etc), sensory modality (touch, pain etc.), type of organ innervated (campaniform, chordotonal etc.), position (dorsal, lateral etc). It is easy to end up with more of a mess than before doing any grouping!

You're welcome to close this if you want, it doesn't really need to remain open as far as I am concerned. Thank you!
