Telegram Integration

EVNotify comes with the possibility to link your Telegram account to the so-called "EVNotifyBot" - this is a bot which can notify you about the state of charge as well as provide some additional features, such as real-time remote fetching of the current state of charge.

To connect your EVNotify account to your telegram account, you need to visit the settings from EVNotify and click on the pink label "Manage Telegram integration".

Manage telegram integration

After you've entered your password, a dialog is shown with a short introduction how to subscribe to the Telegram-Bot. You'll need to contact the EVNotifyBot and enter the command /subscribe. It will then asks you to enter your token - the token has been shown within the dialog in EVNotify. You can long press on it to copy and later paste this token.

Note: Do NOT (never ever!) share your personal token with others!

After you've sent the token to the bot, you are able to receive notifications about the state of charge directly to your telegram account. You should delete the message with the token in telegram after that.

If the desired state of charge has been reached, a telegram message will be sent to every connected device with the specific telegram account.

But wait - the EVNotifyBot can do a lot more cool things!

Here is a list of cool things - there seems to be a lot more cool things coming - or already implemented? Can you discover all of them?

  • /subscribe - Link your telegram account to retrieve notifications when the desired state of charge has been received.
  • /unsubscribe - Unlink your telegram account to longer receive any notifications. You can subscribe again at any time.
  • /help - Some help.
  • /start - A little introduction.
  • /soc - Retrieve the current state of charge of your car*
  • What is my current state of charge? - Hm.. What will this do?..
  • More stuff will be implemented soon.

* To be able to retrieve the current state of charge of your electric vehicle at any time with Telegram, you will need to set the "automatic synchronization interval" within the settings in EVNotify. This is an independent interval next to the polling interval which will push the state of charge to the backend so the bot can retrieve it at any time.
