Insiders Release Notes

The Insiders build is designed for early adopters wanting a weekly or more frequent release. In fact, Insiders builds are the builds we will be using to develop IDE plugin.

Over the course of an iteration the contents of the Insiders builds will change frequently. Therefore, we do not produce a formal set of Release Notes. Instead, the following highlights the contents of build:

Build (June 26, 2023)

  • Add new 1st Party Authentication mechanism, learn more

Build (Jan 5, 2023)

  • Add some missing error handling
  • Improve temp folder handling for Cloud Functions
  • Improve dialog when applying unsaved yaml changes

Build (Dec 14, 2022)

  • Fix an error when deploying a Gen 1 function created via Cloud Console.
  • Add error notification when invoking a non-HTTP(S) function.

Build (Dec 1, 2022)

  • Add prompts to enable Cloud Functions dependency APIs when deploying a function.
  • Add support to Cloud Functions explorer for workspaces containing multiple workspace folders.
  • Change hover over icons for Cloud Functions explorer.
  • Update verbiage on Cloud Functions deploy and invoke function quick picks.
  • Add support for invoking Cloud Function via json file.

Build (Nov 16, 2022)

  • Fix issue with Cloud Function invoke function with json file on Windows.

Build (Nov 15, 2022)

  • Fix issue with Cloud Function build failure in Windows.

  • Google Cloud Function integration & explorer beta, learn more

Build (Sep 9, 2022)

  • Cloud Code for VSCode VSIX is now verifiable using the VsixSignTool, learn more.
  • Improved code snippet accuracy and UX for the Cloud APIs explorer including some new features.
