Right now it's only accepting our own graylog2-radio MessagePack format.

This might be especially useful in conjunction with the native rsyslog Kafka output module: http://www.rsyslog.com/doc/v8-stable/configuration/modules/omkafka.html

It would be great to have Apache Avro Codec (http://avro.apache.org/) support as well. Logstash 1.5.0ga just added it (https://www.elastic.co/blog/logstash-1-5-0-ga-released).

@huhongbo Kafka inputs for Syslog, Raw and GELF will be in 1.1.0-beta.3.

@siliconblade No, Apache Avro won't be supported by Graylog out of the box. The relevant codecs and inputs (e. g. for Kafka and AMQP) could be easily implemented as plugins, though.
