0.3 Dondragmer:

  • The hot world of Imterril, with trojan asteroid Jifgif.
  • [REDACTED] to Reander's [REDACTED]. (POST-NOTE: This referred to Reander's terrain. It doesn't have terrain anymore, because it was a silly easter egg that made no sense when I started taking the mod seriously)
  • Lava lakes instead of flat orange plains on Yalthe
  • Biome maps for all planets.
  • Science Definitions for all planets.
  • Add asteroid belts.

0.4 Clement:

  • The red dwarf star Kaywell B in a distant orbit
    • The hugely massive solid planet Dhreve (POST-NOTE: This referred to Dhrawn, the planet in Star Light, sequel to Mission of Gravity. Since I never finished reading Star Light, I never made this planet)
    • The habitable-zone planet Ohjos
      • Its moon Sansot

Development Version 0.2 "Barlennan"

November 23, 2017

  • Balanced atmospheres for all bodies with air.

  • The Binary Asteroids Wers and Vizea. (Orbits between Shol and Mesbin)
  • The Asteroid Wolda. (Orbits between Shol and Mesbin)
  • Homeworld Swap patch--allows the player to start from Kerbmun instead of Mesbin, resulting in a far more normal game experience. Mesbin is still the default!
  • EVE Cloud Compatibility.

0.3

April 10, 2018

Whirligig World 0.3 has been released.

Github broke so I don't have a nice and complete changelog. But we do now have clouds and new planets and a lot of work and time.

(POST-NOTE: This update included the Tyepolbynar system and the Valyr system, and rearranged the Reander system. I could have at least TRIED to have a real changelog. But whatever.)

v0.4

August 28, 2018

Whirligig World v0.4 for is released.

  • Re-arranged the Reander System, Lito is now the closest moon to Reander.
  • Move Gramun to orbit Tyepolbynar under the name "Etrograd."
  • Move Dermun to orbit Mesbin where Gramun used to under the name "Graymun."
  • Add Mandrake and Rutherford system, with four additional small worlds.
  • Remake Mesbin and Derbin's terrain using modified Tectonics.js maps.
  • Change texture for Shol
  • Add correct sun intensity patches for Kaywell and Gememma (using inverse square-root law to approximate human vision)
  • Mesbin ring moonlets only spawn in uninclined orbits now.
  • Principia patch to make Mesbin oblate with their J2 feature.
  • Kerbmun is now more similar to Kerbin.
  • Denna and Rik are no longer coorbital.
  • Added small subsatellite of Manonam named Didd.
  • Make Valyr's ocean slightly less blue.
  • Make Imterril's atmosphere shader a duller grey white color.

v0.5

October 7, 2018

  • Whirligig World v0.5 Released.
  • Moved Gememma down from 155 kAU to about 25 kAU. Lighting between the stars is much brighter. Gememma's planets appear to have two suns, while Gememma is still brighter than the full moon seen from Kaywell's planets, and Gememma is bright in the sky.
  • Reander's texture has been recolored--Saturn's yellow because of haze which Reander's a bit too warm for. Added new moons to Reander, we now have, in a resonance chain of 1:12, 2:3, 1:2, 1:2, 1:1, and 8:4:
    • Lito
    • Yalthe
    • Yokane (Smaller volcanic place)
    • Dakkonme (Icy cracked moon)
    • Totooa (Atmospheric Pluto)
    • Mally (Red now)
    • Yawer
  • Redesigned Statmun
  • Added SE-generated craters to Vizea, Mally, and Etrograd.
  • Gememma's second planet, Lowel, is no longer hidden--subject to change? Tweaked orbits of some planets and moons--also subject to change.
  • Added biomes to Mesbin.
  • New heightmap for Adjar, new atmosphere color.
  • Renamed Adjar to Egad.
  • Lito has a new, somewhat chaotic heightmap and design, and a thin atmosphere.
  • Mesbin's physical characteristics have been changed. It now rotates once every 28 minutes and is 64% the size.
  • Mandrake and Rutherford have been rescaled and orbit Gememma, roughly coplanar with Lowel.
  • A LOT of new tech tree changes.
  • New cloud map for Derbin.
  • Gememma and Kaywell have new sunspot maps.
  • Added Yeerbor, an eccentric moon of Egad.
  • Gave Rik a more interesting shape.
  • New atmospheres for Tyepolbynar, Shol, and Egad.
  • Basic biome maps for almost all bodies.
  • Re-added timewarp altitude patch.
  • Added science values to all new bodies.
  • Doubled Statmun's size.
  • Renamed Kerbin World Firsts Record Keeping Company to Mesbin World Firsts.

0.6

October 28, 2018

Whirligig 0.6 changelog

  • Added Gannovar, an icy water world in an eccentric orbit around Gememma.
  • Shrunk Statmun by half, returning it to its size in 0.4.
  • Mesbin's terrain has been revamped once more, and it now has an 8K normal map to look better from low orbit.
  • Mesbin Space Center has been moved and its terrain recolored.
  • Mesbin's north pole has a deep basin with a thin atmosphere at the bottom. 1 atmosphere of hydrogen.
  • Reander now has a new texture and cloud banding pattern.
  • Statmun has a normal map that makes sense now.
  • Wers' SOI has been reverted to default, it no longer cuts off before you reach Vizea.
  • Revamped Etrograd's terrain, it looks fantastic now, especially from the surface.
  • Minor tweaks to the miscellaneous orbital elements of some moons--they were not uniquely defined yet.
  • Moved Rik to be an asteroid orbiting between Egad and Reander--the closest thing this system has to a "main belt."
  • Moved Fophie to be a long period comet orbiting Gememma well above the plane of the solar system.
  • Added a new model (created by NovaSilisko) for the Kaputnik probe core, gave it weak gyros.
  • Replaced the modular girder segment with the long and short I-beams in the start node of the tech tree.
  • Added a new biome map for Etrograd's new terrain.
  • Make Shol's Distant Object Enhancement sprite white, so it no longer forms a dark spot on Kaywell.
  • Redone biome maps for Kerbmun, Yokane, Yalthe, and Valyr.
  • Remade Tyepolbynar's texture.
  • Remade Shol's texture, make Shol glow.
  • Remove Fasteroid.
  • Reshaped Wolda, gave it craters.
  • New biome map for Lowel by Niako.
  • Tweaked Mandrake and Rutherford's textures.
  • New planet, a sub-Mars companion to Lowel called Ollym.
  • Finished all planetary atmospheres.
  • Removed atmosphere on Etrograd. (For now?)
  • Fix the science definitions for the bodies which have been changed, add more science definitions.
  • Update ResearchBodies compatibility.
  • Tweaked A.R.M. Asteroids: added asteroids to Gememma, comets to Kaywell and Gememma.
  • Ensure tech tree is compatible with community tech tree.
  • Change science multipliers for Kerbmun homeworld mode.
  • Redesigned Yawer, using a map based upon the old Mesbin map. It rotates fairly quickly, not as quickly as Mesbin, and its highest peaks are under negative gravity.
  • Swap LV-T30 and LV-T45 to their RIGHTFUL PLACE on the tech tree.
  • Finish descriptions for all planets.
  • Move the 1.25m relay antenna (the small static dish) to basic science alongside the smaller deploy-able antennae--the system is huge, we need better antennas!
  • Move the classic tri-coupler to engineering 101, because come on, this part used to be THE BEST back in the old days.

0.7.0

November 16, 2018

  • Re-redone atmospheres, which were all too hot because I had set Kaywell's "1 au" distance too high. Kerbmun should no longer be uninhabitable.
  • Add Thresomin, a minor Mesbin moon halfway between Kerbmun and Low Mesbin Orbit in terms of Delta-v, chocked full of ore.
  • Add Troymin, a minor Mesbin moon in the Kerbmun Trojan point. Also ore-rich. They also have biomes, science definitions, and mod support.
  • Tweaked the asteroid generator configs to generate new structures in Mesbin's "rings" and the asteroid belts around Kaywell.
  • Revamped Derbin's terrain and clouds.
  • Revamped Derbin's biome map.
  • Revamped Jifgif, Fophie, Plaph, and Didd. They're now detailed enough to actually warrant giving them a visit!
  • Added biome maps for all remaining bodies except Wolda (oops). They are still very basic, but they are at least there.
  • Tweaked a few science definitions. Tyepolbynar had an incomplete definition which was fixed. Atmospheric Analysis now only shows you full composition information when flying low. You get only a basic scan when flying high.
  • More detailed Kerbmun biome map.
  • Remake Yawer, since the color map did not agree with the craters. It's not a perfect recreation in terms of accuracy, but it is just as good.
  • Added a VacuumEngines patch in WhirligigWorld/Parts, which adds stock engine clones with their stats changed to have larger engine bells. The actual models are not updated yet, so I've disabled it. To enable this patch you will have to change the filetype from .txt to .cfg. You may be surprised how much of a difference a few percent extra thrust and specific impulse makes.
  • Added a few new flags.

WW 0.8.0

January 6, 2019

  • Moved small fuel cell to Space Exploration to allow for mining if the player hasn't unlocked solar panels.
  • New body: Pragnik, a Trans-Mandrutherford Dwarf Planet.
  • Art pass for Aerious.
  • Art pass for Vizea.
  • Tidally lock Oshan to Valyr, make the atmosphere blue again.
  • Fixed the Tech Tree, Science Definitions, and Space Center for the Kerbmun Homeworld Patch.
  • Fixed Totooa's terrain color referencing a map which didn't exist.
  • Add a Wolfhound nerf patch because I hate that engine. It's now a service module engine matching the thrust of the Apollo SPS. (But with a somewhat higher Isp.) The Skiff is now as good as the Wolfhound was, because that makes more sense as the powerful high efficiency vacuum engine. If you don't like the patch it's easily removed, but also I will be judging you harshly.
  • Change orbit icons for minor and dwarf bodies, as well as Gememma and Mesbin.
  • New known issue: Module Manager reports 25 warnings, likely related to the Kerbmun patches, but this does not seem to interfere with the game.
  • Fix a science definition which had a typo.

0.9.0

March 30 2019

  • All bodies now use Unique Body Identifiers (UBIs).
  • Support for Interstellar Consortium.
  • Homeworld Swap Patch supports IC and UBIs.
  • Fix Kronometer patch, no longer breaks save files.
  • Four Kronometer Modes, changeable in the settings.cfg file.
    • Kerbmun Time: Based on a 30 hour Kerbmun Day.
    • Mesbin Classic Time: The original clock based on the Mesbin day.
    • Mesbin Kerbin Time: New default mode, uses a 6 hour long "Fortnight."
    • Mesbin Earth Time: Uses a 24 hour long "Fiftynight."
  • Fophie's Icon is a normal minor planet, no longer the ugly comet.
  • Change planet descriptions for Kerbmun patch.
  • Add cloud configs to Gannovar, Egad, Lowel, Ollym, Totooa, and Lito.
  • Update cloud map for all existing configs.
  • Gas giants now have cloud maps
    • Reander's map has been made transparent from space for visual reasons, will revisit this later.
    • Mandrake and Rutherford's maps are also transparent from space as E.V.E. supports only one starlight at a time.
  • Asteroid Revamp:
    • Asteroids can now be 10 times larger than before. Existing asteroid classes have incorrect descriptions.
    • Asteroids come in four new density classes, all of which are MUCH denser than the 0.03 g/cm^3 of stock. Shown in increasing density order and decreasing ore percentage. (Note that since asteroids can get MUCH more massive, large metallic asteroids will still have huge amounts of ore)
      • Icy: 1.5 g/cm^3
      • Carbonaceous: 2.3 g/cm^3
      • Stony: 3.4 g/cm^3
      • Metallic: 6.5 g/cm^3
    • Asteroids of different densities will be more or less likely to spawn in some locations.
    • Currently there is no way to tell the different asteroids apart except by indirect observation or by checking the save file.
    • Community Resource Pack supports different asteroid classes.
    • Optional setting to reset asteroid densities to 1/100th real density.
  • Mesbin's atmosphere limit changed, there's now a thin atmosphere all the way up to space. (Necessary for contracts)
  • Change Mesbin's flyingHigh data multiplier to 0.7, same as flyingLow on Kerbin. Change flyingLow to 10 to reflect how ludicrously difficult it is to get into the lower atmosphere.
  • Increase saturation of Mesbin texture and make the reddish mountain peaks actually noticeably red.
  • Add many more science definitions.
  • Corrected a typo on Pragnik's biomes.
  • Re-add thin atmosphere to Etrograd.
  • Simplified Mesbin's biome map to reduce incorrect biome identification.
  • Rewrite Mesbin's science definitions accordingly.
  • Increase Diddmun's size and density.
  • Fix a typo in Shol's Orbit node, it is now correctly aligned with its trojan asteroids. (This will probably break missions that are en route to Shol due to it being in the wrong place in its orbit)
  • Ordinary Kerbin flyby asteroids no longer spawn in Mesbin's orbit.
  • Scatterer sunflares support. (Still no atmospheres)
  • Increased the SOI size of Statmun and Thresomin.
  • Fix spaceAltitudeThreshold on Totooa.
  • Fix typo in Derbin's science definitions.
  • Fix a typo in Etrograd's config. Its mass is now defined correctly.
  • Add displayNames to all planet configs, with ^N at the end to fix "of a" being added to science reports.
  • Fix a few references to Mesbin as a homeworld in the Kerbmun-Homeworld Science Definitions and planet descriptions.
  • Change Gememma's period to simulate binarity.
  • Go through all planet and moon orbits to ensure all orbital elements are defined correctly.
  • Fix luminosity of Kaywell and Gememma--sorry if you were used to 5x luminosity!
  • Flatten MapDecalTangent around the Space Center. The Space Center foundation no longer floats!
  • Increase terrain scatters on Mesbin.
  • Change fog color ramps on Duna-template bodies.
  • Change atmosphere rims on atmospheric bodies to make them look prettier and more realistic.
  • Define Rutherford's orbital Period.
  • Give Reander's moons all a small eccentricity and inclination.
  • Tweak Distant Object Enhancement sprite colors to be brighter.
  • Reduce science multipliers for the Tyepolbynar System.

Patch 0.9.1

April 8 2019

  • Add missing UBI to Shol.
  • Change Kaywell's lens flare brightness curve for better IC compatibility.
  • Add more science definitions, especially materials lab. (Mesbin-career-mode only so far)
  • Fix Gememma's scaled intensity curve final value.
  • Add new Mesbin-28 Kronometer clock.

At this point, KSP 1.7 is released, which fixes the SOI explosion bug

April 10 2019
