Clean up of Surrogates examples after move to apps

Note that the RIPE examples are currently non-functions and are skipped. This really needs to be fixed by someone, as otherwise these really should be removed from the repo.

Proposed changes:

• Delete outdated ALAMO examples to avoid confusion with new interface. The old example was trivial anyway.
• Update imports in RIPE and HELMET examples.
