@sbarbosadataverse - I was not able to reproduce this on my local environment or on production. Can you share some more details about what the user reported? When was the date on the report? Was there a particular dataset? |
@mheppler @scolapasta |
Thank you, Sonia. Please pass this ticket back to me when you have the details from the user. |
@mheppler user reuploaded all their data and no longer can reproduce the issue. |
Re-opening since a user reported being unable to scroll past the first 25 files in the most recent version of Chrome, which @scolapasta @mheppler and I have all been able to reproduce Will need to test a few more datasets to figure out the extent of the issue |
Adding this recent article in as a reference for situations like this: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2016/03/pagination-infinite-scrolling-load-more-buttons/ Really strongly feel like this goes beyond a Chrome issue and more of the fact that this tab needs to be reworked to match the original mock ups. Admin side: https://iqssharvard.mybalsamiq.com/projects/filesprovenancefacetsfilter-dataverse40/grid End user side: https://iqssharvard.mybalsamiq.com/projects/filesallthings-enduser-dataverse42andbeyond/grid |
The original design used a load more button. Presumably this approach would side step the infinite scrolling problem. Effort to investigate is a 2 but may be larger to implement depending on whether the current control can be used. |
A new issue, Dataset - File UI Improvements #3404, was created to track the UI improvements related to the files view on the dataset pg. Older feature requests and bug reports like this one will be closed in favor of that new issue. |
Two users have reported that chrome is limiting their ability to scroll files on the "files" tab, beyond 50 files.
