The way the material and styles currently works was because that was the best way I could work out how to do it to align with Blender's native "materials" tab.

I'm slowly working on building a proper IFC-oriented styles/material manager which can handle styles properly (e.g. style-material association, or representation item styling). This should really improve a lot of the user confusion around how styles works, and solve a number of bugs, such as:

Moved all shading style and textures parameters from shader-graph N-panel to general Styles UI. Shader graph now also update in real time on any prop changes in Styles UI.

Now there is practically no need to switch to shader graph to edit styles shaders - all parameters are available from the Styles UI. That also allows you to edit styles and see the results in viewport even if the edited style is not the one that's currently active.
