When a project is closed or when some time passes, tasks become permanent and cannot be changed (they are grayed out).

When you are in that case, and the project names are too big to fit the text box, you don't have any way to read the full project name for a grey task.

Maybe it could be fixed with a simple tooltip that showed the full name when you hover the text field.
