Oracle of the Ink

Welcome to InkEye, home to the open-source project of iconography. Our vision is to better tell people's stories through the symbols on their skin. InkEye leverages machine learning for object detection combined with crowd-sourced data for the meaning behind each detection.

🚨Disclaimer: InkEye respects the privacy of our users and make no attempt to identify the individuals in processed images. This tool is not intended for use in personal identification.

1. User supplies an image.
2. InkEye checks its database for visually similar images:
   a. Returns found images, or
   b. Forwards to tattoo recognition.
3. InkEye attempts to detect the presence of tattoo(s) in the image:
   a. No tattoo detected,
   b. Tattoo detected, forwarded for tattoo categorization.
4. InkEye attempts to categorize detected tattoos into one of the following categories:
   a. None,
   b. Animal,
   c. Person,
   d. Text,
   e. Symbol,
   f. Object.
5. InkEye tries to identify the specific type, text, or symbol found in the previous category.

Pardon our mess! We are still under heavy research and development. As noted in earlier sections, this is a big project, so it is worth taking the time to do it right.
