[Bug]: Blizzard launcher cannot logon #44
Comments
Open regedit Then look for (This should be fix with #13) Let me know I you successfully run a Blizzard game. I'm stuck with Diablo, icon shows in dock, but nothing happen, then icon disappear, and Battle.net try to update Diablo as if I runned it normally then close the game |

That did the trick. I knew I had to edit the registry but didn't realize I could run programs from the C drive. After updating the build numbers I no longer get Updating loop and version not supported error and I'm in the game. Thank you. Edit - |
I had the same issue; and based on posts in the Linux community (for Lutris), you need to make sure to have some dependencies installed:
After that I was able to log into Battle.net successfully. |
it work!!!! thx bro. i'm macbook pro 14' m2 pro |
thanks @master131 , now I can run it. When I start Battle.net-Setup.exe from Whisky (using "Run..."), no fonts are rendered: freetype is installed (using brew). |
You may need to restart Whisky & create a new Bottle after installing those dependencies for the text to appear as expected (as per the guidance on the README for Whisky). |
@master131 I've rebooted my laptop, Whisky, and recreated a Bottle. Unfortunatelly, didn't help. |
Not sure unfortunately, initially installing freetype fixed the problem for me, not sure why it's not working for you! |
If it still isn't working after installing freetype through brew, you can try |
One could also try Personally i'm stuck on an error while launching Diablo IV, it says NO GPU Found, can't see any thix for that one, unfortunately. |
Your solution fixed the Windows 10 (Build 1909) error for me, but same, the game isn't loading still. Did you figure it out? |
Yes, clicking "Run..." in Whisky, navigating to regedit, then making the appropriate adjustments to the build and version numbers fixed it. The issues I was experiencing after that point were on Blizzards end with the servers. Everything works great now. |
0.2.3 has fixed the issue with the fonts for me. Thanks, @IsaacMarovitz ! |
Use version 0.2.1 instead. For some reason, since I updated the Whiskey version to 0.2.3 I wasn't able to launch D4 but with 0.2.1, I'm able to. |
I downgraded to 0.2.1 from 0.2.3 and I'm still getting the same issue as above. |
@Write Have you had any luck with your GPU issue? I'll let you know if I figure it out. |
Yes indeed I found the issue ! It was the ditto command not copying properly GamePortingtoolkit files ! Once I've had done it manually Diablo IV effectively launched ! |
Would you mind pasting the ditto code snippet here? If that’s how it was
remedied @Write

Well I didn't used the ditto command. I just copied the files myself. I don't even use whisky too. The ditto command is needed when installing everything manually.
Tutorial from here : https://www.applegamingwiki.com/wiki/Game_Porting_Toolkit |
@Write That worked! thanks |
Have you found a fix for that issue? |
@YT98 I was given this as a fix, it did not work for me, but maybe you'll have luck. |
Yeah that did not work |
yes don't use whisky. |
Thanks I'll try doing it without Whisky. Do I have to start the download all over again or is there a way for me to transfer the game files from the Whisky bottle to the new one? |
The First Time I launch with I used Hope these process can help debug the issues. |
It's more like a debug process than a solution.
And their relative debug tools:
I were following these step to found out Diablo IV requires, |
Got Battle.net launched under Ventura with Whisky 0.3.0. Installed D4. But when launching, I've getting a "No GPU found" type of dialog box. Sounds like no DX12 stuff found, maybe? Unclear, but thought I would share. Just in case it can help figure out the issue. |
It does seem that something in the newer versions of Whisky has broken Diablo 4. I was able to play the first couple days. Moved over to my PC and coming back to it after an automatic update I get Play -> Updating loop. |
Getting the same loop. Battle.net update never gets installed here, though, so I am wondering if it could be related. When I click "Apply & restart" (or however it's labelled), it just seemingly closes the bnet UI (but Wine is still running, apparently), and it just never comes back. If I kill all wine processes and open bnet again, the update wasn't applied. Now starting D4 (on Ventura) is not getting the GPU error, but it looks like it's trying to update D4, but it never launches the game for real. It doesn't even seem to try (not seeing the D4 icon in the apps or dock), as opposed as when I was getting the "No GPU" error. |
Update: turning Esync on (in Whisky, click on the "config" for your bottle, and there is a toggle) worked for me! It's now launching under Ventura! |
Confirmed working for me as well. Thank you. |
I'm on M1 Pro, Ventura, Whisky pre-0.3.1 (14), Windows 10 (build version 19042 -- I updated both numbers in regedit as previously recommended). Without ESync on I can get to the Play/Updating loop (but never actually launches the game). When I turn on ESync, I can't get anything to launch. I get this: Any suggestions? (Note: I have not ran any other custom commands or anything, I just straight up downloaded Whisky/GTK.dmg/Battle.net installer, placed GTK.dmg into Whisky, created a bottle, ran the Battle.net installer, and then edited the Windows build version to 19042.) UPDATE: I exited out of of Battle.net and Whisky and made sure the applications were closed (with Esync on). Then relaunched, tried to launch Diablo IV Launcher, and it works! Cinematics rolling! |
Same here... @obizonit let me know if you got it working |
@obizonit Thank you. I'll try that too. |
After this, I can't run commands anymore, they stay in a freeze mode and nothing happens. I even tried to run the regedit.exe again and it not started Is it a known issue? |
Version 1.0.0 here, disabling DXVK worked for me related to the GPU issue. Strange behavior though - if I disable DXVK, Battle.net shows a black screen, but the underlying UI is still clickable so games can still be launched. |
Check out my comment on the newer issue: #198 (comment) |
Works, thank you! |
Can't login to the blizzard launcher in online mode, just installed the bnet launcher into a win10 bottle
