Is ext-gd required for common library usage?

My question is, why this package requires to have installed an ext-gd (extension for image manipulations, ref [1]) always, since util class for images can be not used (as it is not the main package responsibility)?

Background: I'm using composer-diff (https://github.com/JBZoo/Composer-Diff) package to track composer dependencies changes which require this package, but use only Sys and Cli helpers.

There is a helper which uses gd functions.
The helper provides simple functions for working with images.

Btw, I think you are right. I think there is no good reason to use Utils in Composer-Diff just for a couple of functions. I'm going to update the utility this week.

PS. It would be great if you add an issue in a neighboring project.
