Welcome to the Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) wiki!

If you are looking for the Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) v2.4.0 release you are in the right place! See the All Releases page for release notes and known bugs.

This repository contains the model code and external links needed to build the Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM).

The Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) is a development project led by the Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA). The purpose of the CRTM is to provide a fast and accurate radiative transfer model for remote sensing applications and satellite radiance data assimilation. The CRTM offers performance to operational users and is easily accessible to the scientific community at large. It’s modular code structure and continuous integration development philosophy facilitate the rapid integration of state-of-the-art advances in radiative transfer.

This wiki includes a Getting Started section that leads you through a quick guide to getting started with the CRTM project. It also includes a Graduate Student Test, which provides a simple example of cloning, building and running the CRTM. The Graduate Student Test is designed to provide the lowest barrier to entry to the CRTM.

See https://ufscommunity.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/UFS_Newsletter_Summer_2020_Full.pdf for a UFS Newsletter article on the CRTM community modeling efforts.

Documentation and User Support

Documentation is provided through two primary sources:

Depending on what you are doing, you may need different versions of the Users Guide:

Version Description
Tag crtm-v2.4.0 Documentation for the CRTM v2.4.0 release and the version currently used in the Getting Started section.
Tag crtm-v2.3_jedi Documentation for the CRTM release used in the JEDI framework
Latest Documentation for the head of the development. This may have gaps and errors.
