A fellow VR simmer posted this in our MSFS VR group and it looks amazing. I am using a high end rig with the reverb G2.

I have followed the instructions but end up with OBS "openXR Mirror Capture" black, nothing shows up.

I have followed the instructions, as they are straight forward. Not sure if it is a registry issue but I think I am logged into administrator mode so that should be fine.

Any way for me to verify this via Regedit? or any other suggestions?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Jose,
I had the same problem. You need to add a line in the regedit.

in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Khronos\OpenXR\1\ApiLayers\Implicit

add -> C:\Program Files\OpenXR-OBSMirror\XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_OBSMirror.json and set the value to 0 not 1.

For me the powershell installer did not work and I also had to add it manually.

Hello @German-Jackal

Excellent! This fixed it!

for MSFS VR, its key to note, it did not show up in OBS until I enabled VR in MSFS. The WMR portal was not picked up as a mirror. That is interesting, but overall that is ok.

My regedit key for C:\Program Files\OpenXR-OBSMirror\XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_OBSMirror.json is already set to 0 and I also have the black screen capture issue.

It seemed to work for a few minutes then it went black and now it's not coming back.

I've closed OBS, exited from my VR session, removed the capture device, readded it, restarted my VR session, etc. etc. but it's still black.

Ok, dunno why, but after restarting my Quest 2, it's now back... Will keep a look out if that's always the case.
