The Joy of Coding at Portland State University

Software is one of the most malleable substances known to humankind which makes software development is one of the most dynamics, challenging, and potentially-rewarding activities humans can pursue. The Joy of Coding with Java and Android is a one-term course at Portland State University in which we explore many aspects of contemporary sofwtare development including:

  • Source Code Management with Git and GitHub
  • Test Driven Development and Unit Testing
  • Working with large APIs
  • Pair and Ensemble (Mob) Programming
  • Continuous Integration
  • Code Refactoring
  • Building a REST API
  • Small Device Application development
