Thanks so much for helping with this! Re maintaining, I would normally be happy to help out, but to be honest I don't know much about what the package even does - it's somewhere in our dependency chain and was breaking things on 1.3, so I wanted to help get it fixed, but I don't really have much sense of what is going on beyond that 😅 |

I haven't touched the version here as I'm not sure what you want to call the new release.
I also wasn't sure what to do with the compat - right now it's just the bounds from REQUIRE and I imagine these could probably be updated, but without CI or tests I didn't want to cause any breakage.
