SO,

I made a program that checks up on the html data from the http://kteq-streamer.sdsmt.edu:8000/ page. basically, if the program sees information being displayed on this page, the stream is up. Otherwise, the stream is down (because no stream data is being posted to the streamer icecast page). The program then emails the station inbox, as well as my personal email address, to inform us that the stream is down. Upon restoring the stream online, the program will send out a verification email that data is being displayed on the site. The program checks on the page once every minute, so there might be a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinyy bit of delay on responses from the program. Beyond this, it should be somewhat accurate. Expect SOME bugs to crop up now and again, submit all issues to the github page: https://github.com/jbrackins/kteq-pinger/issues.

All emails after this point SHOULD be accurate to whether or not the stream is up. just pay attention to the emails that have KTEQ-PINGER in the subject line.

I'll email the kteq mail address to indicate any maintenance points from here on out, but this will hopefully prove to be a valuable tool for us in regards to monitoring the stream status.

Cheers,
