If there is still interest in this project. On the WMC hacked version that works in WIndows 10 (also works in WIndows 8/8.1). There is a mod that allows WMC to run and play video over a RDP session.
Although they cant get it running in full screen, it is possible to have a option for the holy grail of WMC...
there is a version you can install on 10 or 8.1 that has RDP enabled in it..
