Can not double click to open previous files #185

It appears it's looking at an older installation as you stated. Open Mids, then under Options -> Configuration -> Updates & Paths you should be able to repair the file association so that when you open builds from Windows Explorer it will launch/open the build in the correct version. |

Hello,
Thanks for the quick response. I launched Mids then went to the
configuration and then to Updates &Path and it was showing valid. I clicked
the button to repair the association and closed mids and tried double
clicking a file and got the same message. I shut down Mids then shut down
my PC and restarted and tried running Mids as administrator and clicked the
repair button. I closed Mids and tried double clicking a file and got
the same error message. Is there maybe somewhere windows would store that
path? I used reg edit and searched for the Compare.mhd and only found the
path to the current file.
Thanks again for your time and help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled
several times to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. If you need me
to do anything for trouble shooting or gather more information for you
please let me know.

Look for any mxd, or mbd entries in either HKEY CurrentUser or LocalMachine, they should be under classes . Those should be the registration paths to Mids for the file types. Another thing you can do is delete the AppConfig.json file in the install directory in the event that is causing the issue. |

Hello Jason,
I finally tracked it down just thought I would tell you thanks. All of your
help and tips telling me what to look for and where were spot on. I found
the entry in a guarded section of the registry for virus protection.
Because the original hard drive failed the virus protection had an
exception entered to not scan that directory when MIDs was open. I did find
it in the HKEY CurrentUser entries. I had to remove the exception from my
virus software and from the registry. Don't know why the virus
software wouldn't remove it but after removing it from the virus software I
could remove all the entries in the registry and all is working as
expected. Thanks again for all of your help and all the work you do to
maintain MIDs.

after updating to 3.7.4.9 I can not double click characters to open them. I receive the error
"Database file missing
overrides fil(compare.mhd)was not found.\r\nCreating a new one".
I click the OK button and get
"Message:

The path on P drive is to an old installation that was deleted a several weeks ago when my drive failed. I checked fire paths and Environment Variable for both user and system and there is not path or file for mids listed
I did check and the file is in "F:\MRB_Release_3.7.4.8\Data\Homecoming\Compare.mhd"
If I launch Mids then open a file it works fine but I can only have one file open at a time. Liked being able to compare builds. If this is a planned changed and is working normally I apologize. Love the program.
I have searched for a fix on the web mostly microsoft sites and have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated even just a "not our app look at windows" will give a place to keep looking.
