Use the new Ci20's LEDs to show CPU and NAND activity #44

The new Ci20 has 4 LEDs, this PR makes two of them display CPU activity (one per core) and one to display NAND activity.

The change to idle.c is inspired by ARM code.

Note: ci20_defconfig needs updating to include support for gpio-leds and the triggers used in this PR. I'll send a separate PR for that once #41 is merged.

Would you be better off putting the LED triggers in arch_cpu_idle() so that they are effective for all variants not just the JZ4780?

@mpredfearn

Also - the LED definitions should go in the Ci20 DTS, not the JZ4780 as they are platform specific not SoC specific

@mpredfearn Good points, I'll change both of those things now

What options need enabling for this in .config? I can put them into my defconfig change to save having to have another commit/merge to add it in.

@aejsmith the minimum required to get the PR to work is:

CONFIG_LEDS_GPIO
CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGERS
CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGER_CPU
CONFIG_LEDS_CLASS

@mpredfearn Done. 👍

Thanks, I'll add them in a bit.

Added!

I found an LED trigger for USB host transfers - I checked it today and it works.

If this is something people will think to be useful, I can update the DT file. The defconfig will also need a single line adding.

needs rebase. probably formatting of dt nodes conflicting..

Just starting a rebase now :-)

The prefix on the first patch's commit message should be "MIPS:" rather than "arch: mips:", that's the convention for MIPS commits upstream (I guess you'll want to send that upstream at some point).

Problem here is that we need to make sure the NSH header is of

Since commit 3fea5a4 ("mm: memcontrol: convert page cache to a new
mem_cgroup_charge() API") not cancel the page charge, the pages maybe
double add to pagecache:
thread1 | thread2
cifs_readpages
readpages_get_pages
 add_to_page_cache_locked(head,index=n)=0
                              | readpages_get_pages
                              | add_to_page_cache_locked(head,index=n+1)=0
 add_to_page_cache_locked(head, index=n+1)=-EEXIST
then, will next loop with list head page's
index=n+1 and the page->mapping not NULL
readpages_get_pages
add_to_page_cache_locked(head, index=n+1)
 commit_charge
  VM_BUG_ON_PAGE

So, we should not do the next loop when any page add to page cache
failed.

These two types of XDP progs (BPF_XDP_DEVMAP, BPF_XDP_CPUMAP) will not be
executed directly in the driver, therefore we should also not directly
run them from here. To run in these two situations, there must be further
preparations done, otherwise these may cause a kernel panic.

For more details, see also dev_xdp_attach().

pcercuei pushed a commit to OpenDingux/linux that referenced this pull request Aug 7, 2022
The return thunk call makes the fastop functions larger, just like IBT
does. Consider a 16-byte FASTOP_SIZE when CONFIG_RETHUNK is enabled.

Otherwise, functions will be incorrectly aligned and when computing their
position for differently sized operators, they will executed in the middle
or end of a function, which may as well be an int3, leading to a crash
like:
