Hi, I'm Masha (she/her) - a genomics software engineer currently at Myriad Genetics. I'm passionate about the intersection of biology and computer science, as well as making that space inclusive to all sorts of people. I'm based in the East Bay Area in California and enjoy reading, writing, concerts, traveling, and making art.

Myriad Genetics
- Full-stack software development on prenatal products, including non-invasive prenatal screen and carrier screening.
- Development of pipeline that allows for large-scale genomic copy number variations to be reported on prenatal screen, establishing Myriad as a leader in the prenatal market
- Creation of chromosome ideogram generator library in Python using SVGWrite, Poetry and Github Actions
- Development of an internal technical mentorship program in the Myriad Tech Organization
- Revamping of Myriad's technical interview process to reduce bias and improve streamlining
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
- Full-stack software development of a queryable COVID-19 database and web interface for molecular dynamics data, in partnership with the American Heart Association. This database includes calculations for millions of compounds (antibodies, small molecules) tested against the COVID-19 spike proteins. Check it out!
- Data visualization and exploration of gene expression data for cancer cell lines
- Development of database for investigating genetic sequences of interest in order to characterize microbial threats.
- Development of a machine learning algorithm designed to create predictive pre-clinical treatment models for precision oncology.
Independent Research
- Open source software development of pyRECONSTRUCT, a software add-on to the RECONSTRUCT software available at SynapseWeb. Work to alleviate duplicate contours on a Cartesian plane. This includes an interactive GUI via PyQt, with data stored in-memory on a SQL server.
