MassOS 2022.02.2
Please see the Installation Guide for installation instructions and guidance on which file to download. To upgrade an existing MassOS installation, you can use the MassOS Release Upgrade Utility.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This version of MassOS includes an upgrade to the core C library (glibc), therefore upgrading from a previous version using the upgrade utility is not possible. To update, please download the Live CD ISO and boot the live environment, then run the MassOS Installation Program and go to Repair --> Refresh. This won't wipe your user data or apps. Clean installations are not affected by this and can be performed as normal.
This is version 2022.02.2 of MassOS. It contains the following changes since the previous version, 2022.02:
- The core C library (glibc) has been upgraded to the latest version (
2.35). - Manual pages are now compressed by default to save space.
- Added Mugshot to allow changing of user settings such as profile picture.
- Added OpenVPN support, including a plugin for NetworkManager to allow easy creation/management of OpenVPN connections.
- Added Evince - PDF viewer program.
- Added Samba support.
- Added
zmanandunzman, small utilities for bulk compressing/decompressing manual pages. - Added
set-default-tar, a small helper utility allowing you to set the default tar program.
