Ropsten test faucet not working #5439
Comments
@modong faucet is working fine for me, and there are lots of successful tx over the past couple days from Etherscan. You still having trouble? Can we get a screenshot? |
Same issue here |
Same issue for me now. I had faced this last week as well. Can someone fix this please? Or provide a workaround at least please? |
This is the exact error message - someone help please--- {"error":"[ethjs-rpc] rpc error with payload {"id":1358577249026,"jsonrpc":"2.0","params":[{"to":"0xce35b218f28a275457b9e7efd1257c08d201c9ec","from":"0x81b7e08f65bdf5648606c89998a9cc8164397647","value":"0xde0b6b3a7640000","data":"0x"}],"method":"eth_sendTransaction"} [object Object]"} |
Can someone respond please? Any workaround as of now? |
I tried to reset my MetaMask account, created new account, rebooted Chrome. Still same issue. |
Currently, Infura is working on getting Ropsten to up to date with the Contantinople fork. In the meantime, it is recommended to use a different test network. Thanks for your patience. |
Thanks much for your response. Any ETA? |
I see in twitter as well- https://mobile.twitter.com/infura_io/status/1051210032392691714 |
@jobinjohnym84 no ETA yet, we'll let you know! for now, use another test network |
Seems that the nodes have synced up when I tested it this morning. |
Guys, any update on this? |
Still not working, did it work from oct 2018 to feb 2019? |
same issue here |
I am suffering from this problem now. |
Same thing as the above atm. |
@Lachs7 Due to a consensus issue with the Constantinople fork, Ropsten is currently not usable. |
Awesome, thanks for letting me know.

Experiencing the same issue as @istabraq-iot |
Did not receive a single test ether but now getting this error. Same issue. |
This works for me. Just note, it may take a while to receive 1 eth from the sender. |
same issue as @istabraq-iot |
I have same issue. I think we have enough reports to start considering reopen this issue. |
Did some digging and found this link: https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmU7Ecw419si7D8gq4tB3qVBraitBGeVrsMESHBMD1DnCb/ I was able to get .5eth, it might work for you. |
I have same issue. |
Still not working! |
Tried Test Faucet given in extension |
Same issue as last comment above mine, any workaround? Error: 500 {"error":"[ethjs-query] while formatting outputs from RPC '{"value":{"code":-32603,"message":"Too Many Requests","data":{"originalError":{}},"stack":"Error: Too Many Requests\n at eval (/www/node_modules/web3-provider-engine/subproviders/rpc.js:52:23)\n at Request.eval [as _callback] (/www/node_modules/web3-provider-engine/subproviders/rpc.js:54:11)\n at Request.self.callback (/www/node_modules/request/request.js:186:22)\n at Request.emit (events.js:315:20)\n at Request.eval (/www/node_modules/request/request.js:1155:10)\n at Request.emit (events.js:315:20)\n at IncomingMessage.eval (/www/node_modules/request/request.js:1077:12)\n at Object.onceWrapper (events.js:421:28)\n at IncomingMessage.emit (events.js:327:22)\n at endReadableNT (internal/streams/readable.js:1327:12)"}}'"} |
for anyone coming to this thread the faucet is broken and has been for almost 3 years no one is going to fix it any time soon you're better off deploying on BSC test net and using this faucet instead, it actually works |
Error: 500 {"error":"[ethjs-query] while formatting outputs from RPC '{"value":{"code":-32603,"message":"Too Many Requests","data":{"originalError":{}},"stack":"Error: Too Many Requests\n at eval (/www/node_modules/web3-provider-engine/subproviders/rpc.js:52:23)\n at Request.eval [as _callback] (/www/node_modules/web3-provider-engine/subproviders/rpc.js:54:11)\n at Request.self.callback (/www/node_modules/request/request.js:186:22)\n at Request.emit (events.js:315:20)\n at Request.eval (/www/node_modules/request/request.js:1155:10)\n at Request.emit (events.js:315:20)\n at IncomingMessage.eval (/www/node_modules/request/request.js:1077:12)\n at Object.onceWrapper (events.js:421:28)\n at IncomingMessage.emit (events.js:327:22)\n at endReadableNT (internal/streams/readable.js:1327:12)"}}'"} |
FYI: https://faucet.ropsten.be/ worked for me on Ropsten Test Network. |
Was having problems across different faucets. Eventually just switched on a VPN and it started working again. Hope this helps someone. |
Same issue |
Use this link |
It's inexcusable that this problem has existed for at least three years. I was unable to receive test ETH in both the Ropsten and Goerli test networks across a half-dozen browsers. I did everything I could think of to troubleshoot the issue and followed the advice provided in this thread. Given that Metamask is touted as the standard browser extension crypto wallet by countless websites, videos, online courses, and many others, this glaring flaw needs to be fixed. |
Yes bro I have same problem and I do not know what is next step ?? |
Same issues here. I'm trying for a few days to get one, but no luck... |
Guys, I found a solution for that ! |
The problem appears to be the links that many of us were using and isn't limited to Metamask users (although you should avoid Metamask due to their sketchy privacy agreement, which mentions the use of Google Analytics among other concerning practices). With that being said, thanks for the links, @glitterlip, but none of those worked for me. I did, however, send test ETH to my Brave Wallet through the Rinkeby, Goerli, and Kovan test networks using the link that @mohammadmadadi provided. Thanks, Mohammad! |
I also tried every one of them, but none of them worked successfully. I can't figure out why it's so difficult to find a way to get ETH through a testnet like that |
worked for me https://faucet.egorfine.com/ |
If it can help, I was experiencing this issue while using the Brave browser, but it worked in Firefox instead. No idea why or if it will be the same for other people, but you can still try. |
These two worked for me:
|
@tmashuang you closed this issue in 2018, but look there are so many people having a hard time with it still today. Instead of letting everyone be frustrated, could you or one of your teammates take that issue at hand? |
It's a f'n joke that this issue is still not resolved |
still running into this issue, three years later, any updates? |

Additional context
We are launching an off-chain platform testnet that depends on metamask faucet for user testing. We would appreciate so much if you could help fix the faucet issue.
