Hierarchical Preferences

Eclipse has a preference system that allows each plugin to provide default settings. The builder of a "product" can then add site-specific settings, and finally the user might be able to adjust them. This describes the suggested use for CSS.

This is important if you need to for example configure the EPICS Channel Access address list for your product, and you want to do that in a way that all users at your site will start out with a useful default yet still allow individual adjustments.

For details, refer to the chapter "Hierarchical Preferences" in http://cs-studio.sourceforge.net/docbook/css_book.pdf
