CV

Install latex:

sudo apt-get install texlive-latex-base texlive-latex-extra
sudo apt-get install texlive-fonts-recommended

Install pdf reader:

sudo apt-get install okular

Edit cover-letter.tex directly or edit cover-letter.org, but do C-c C-e L in emacs and edit the resulting tex. Make sure thare is a first line, no matter what, then save as cover-letter-body.tex.

Edit resume2.tex. This is extracted from moderncv/examples/template.tex and in there you can see what and how this file can be put together.

Insert this for bullet instead of circles for listpoints:

#+LATEX: \renewcommand{\labelitemi}{\textbullet}

For different list spacing replace \being{... with the following in the latex file:

\begin{itemize} \itemsep1pt \parskip5pt \parsep0pt

Edit personal-info-demo and save as personal-info (gitignored)

Then run make-cv.sh.

This script takes the three edited files, combines them with moderncv template tex files and calls pdflatex on it all and produces cv.pdf in the project’s root directory.

TODO:

  • The personal info is duplicated from resume.tex to cover-letter.tex. Should make it one tex file or assemble a tex file from fragments script wise.
  • Insert company name automatically from script
