The scope of changes on this PR is beyond the AC for the story it is linked to.
- If I try to use
deploy.shas instructed in the app/README, then it fails because it doesn't have execute permissions on the file. User has to usechmodfirst to be able to run it. - The script prompts the user for things that are not available / known:
- Application ID
- Application Secret
- Tenant ID
For this issue, the user should just be able to run terraform apply to provision a resource group.
Request the following changes:
- Remove the
./clusterfolder. - Remove
azure-pipelines.yml. - Remove
./app/deploy.sh. - Remove
./app/*.tfstate*files. These are going to be persisted using a remote backend in a later user story. - Remove the
./app/README.md. This provides forward-thinking guidance that is beyond the scope of the this issue. - Rename the
./appfolder to./shared. The intent of the user story is for this resource group to be used to define the core/shared resource (ie: Key Vault and Virtual Network) in later user stories.

You need to use "sh deploy.sh" deploy.sh by itself doesn't work without the +x I didn't want the user to change permissions, but I found a way to commit my .sh with the +x so it should work on the next clone. What was the error you got? |

The .tfstate may be only on your environment after you ran Terraform. I haven't none checked in with this commit. |

The script is still prompting for things we don't need to deploy the terraform template. Please remove the script from the PR.
The ./shared/README should just describe the command line steps to deploy the template:
- terraform init
- terraform apply
Remove the ./README from this PR. There is a another PR that already has setup/deployment section started and we'll add on that going forward.

How does the .env work with Terraform? I'm not able to get it to recognize the .env file. Works great using the variables.tf though. Can you please provide specific guidance on the use of the .env file with Terraform?
Also, in the Environment Variables section, please include the full example for the variables.tf file, similar to how you are doing for the .env file.
