Glass Chickens dont seem to mutate

Reproduction:

1. Get a white chicken
2. Feed it a bunch of wheet to max its happiness
3. drop 3 sets of large empty beakers and syringes on, adjacent, and 1 tile away from the nesting box.
4. Feed the white chicken a ton of unstable mutagen feed
5. It lays every available white chicken mutation save for glass chickens

Either im doing something wrong with breeding these chickens, or glass chickens cant mutate. I've tried this about 3 times now on seperate shifts.
