We have the ability to spawn very different tree types using the L-system generator. It might be an idea to start thinking about how to model different forest biomes that each may contain overlap in tree types, but a distinct selection / overall theme.

For bonus points: Define the biomes in Groovy files akin to blocks :-)

Now that BiomeRegistry is around, all kinds of biomes are possible. In fact, different forest biome types exist now (for example in PolyWorld). I vote for closing this as complete.

I concur - with one condition: Lets document a super simple tutorial on how to create a new biome with a new tree type to go with it :-)

Maybe it could be another section in https://github.com/Terasology/TutorialWorldGeneration/wiki ? In fact @Josharias already left a Biome bullet point there
