Welcome! This is the repository for the encoded edition of the Maya K'iche' story Popol Wuj, newly edited by the Ajtz'ib'ab' research team in Antigua, Guatemala. After a careful study of the extant manuscript copied by Dominican friar Francisco de Ximénez (ca. 1666-1729), the Ajtz'ib'ab' team, formed by Ajpub' Pablo García Ixmatá, Aj Xol ch'ok Héctor Rolando, Beatriz Par, Saqijix López and Ixch'umiil García Méndez, updated the orthography and K'iche' language of the ancient story to make it accessible to readers today.
