Unfortunately, several virus detection programs misclassify the underlying "BlackBox" software framework used by BUGS as a virus. This can prevent MultiBUGS being installed, or may cause the error "unable to link BugsWorker executable" when the
distribute
button is clicked. We have been contacting anti-virus companies to try to fix the false-positive detection of MultiBUGS - several have now corrected their definition files, but unfortunately this is no guarantee the problem will not arise again in the future. The Google-owned VirusTotal website provides a summary of the current detection status of MultiBUGS 2.0. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/7821aa1481157adb0889d6c1d5160cd2682dadd010316dec6f7d9e24903bd554/detection
If you come across this problem, please file an issue in GitHub (or email us) and we will try to help you resolve it.
If you have difficulties in Avira, you can set up an exception: https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000834465-How-do-I-setup-Exceptions-for-Files-Folders-and-Processes (with thanks to @Swronski and @btreut; see issue 52)

MultiBUGS may need closing and re-opening between running different models, otherwise you may get the error message "BugsWorker.exe could not be replaced because access is denied". This is due to the Workers not being properly killed after they finish running. We hope to fix this issue soon.Fixed by https://github.com/MultiBUGS/MultiBUGS/commit/429dd6edcf29808ab8cc48981c3f6dcc2eb12138
