Battery Status Report

MyLab-odyssey edited this page Sep 12, 2017 · 4 revisions

Get a Battery Status Report to see an overview of the battery condition. From the main menu please use command rpt to initiate a report about the battery status:

ENTER command... (? for help)
CMD >>rpt

The system will gather the available data from the car.

Reading data....................OK

And will display a short report:

You will see the overall status of the battery (Battery Status : [OK | FAULT] ) and a summary of the BMS measurements. For a detailed description please refer to the Data Overview section.

Some measurements will get a comment to rate the displayed value:

measurement rating remark
Estimation factor BMS estimate of the measurement quality for the charged capacity.
> 0.85 excellent
> 0.82 very good
> 0.80 good
> 0.78 fair You need a larger dSOC, so start test below 20% SOC.
<= 0.78 poor Don't trust the measurement and redo it. Watch out for OCV state to be OK!
OCV state Open Circuit Voltage (as steady state of the pack).
OK OCV state achieved
Ready for cap. meas. ! OCV state achieved and SOC < 20%, ready for a good capacity measurement.
wait for [hh:mm] Time to wait for OCV state.
[mm:ss] ...
[sec] OCV timer will not count down, so the HV OFF timer will be displayed here.

The Voltage Distribution will show if the battery is balanced well. The cell voltages of the pack will be displayed in a Box Plot to visualize the balancing level. Here is an example of a badly balanced battery - for more information please refer to the Data Overview section:
